Packed with healthy oats and featuring a sweet sprinkling of cranberry, these jacks can be made ahead of time for a convenient grab and go breakfast or for a sweet treat during the day.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/5 brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons golden syrup
- 1/2 butter
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Blanched almonds to decorate
Method:
- Heat oven to 350 Fahrenheit
- Prepare 12×8 inch baking tray
- In a medium sized saucepan melt the sugar, syrup and butter over a low heat. When melted add baking soda and cranberries
- Remove from heat and stir in the flour and oats
- Spread into the baking dish and add the blanched almonds
- Bake for 20-30 minutes until golden brown
