This week at For the Love of Breakfast we are thinking green for St Patrick’s Day and are kicking off the week with these delicious Apple Rings. Easy to make and fun to eat, these Apple Rings provide a unique start to the day!
Ingredients:
1/4 Cup of all purpose flour
1 /2 Cup of milk
1 Free range egg
1/2 Teaspoon of cinnamon
1 Sweet apple peeled, cored and sliced into rings. About 5 slices to a medium sized apple.
1 1/2 tablespoons of vegetable oil for cooking
Icing sugar to dust
Method:
- Place the flour and cinnamon into a mixing bowl. Make a well in the center and add the egg and milk. Whisk to form a smooth batter
- Heat the oil in a frying ?pan
- Dip the apple rings into the batter and lower one at a time gently into the frying pan
- When nice and golden, turn the rings over and cook the other side
- Dust with icing sugar and serve with lemon wedge and sour cream
